Its a shame Trammell and Whitaker were passed over for the Hall of Fame...?

I am a 50 year old, life long, Detroit Tigers fan. I was just looking at the statistics (both offensively and defensively) of some of the shortstops and second basemen who are currently in the Hall of Fame. When you compare them to those of the Motown's longtime classic keystone combination of Alan Trammel and Lou Whitaker, it is an outright injustice that neither man has been voted in. Both of them have Hall of Fame career stats that compare to those who are in. They also hold the record for having played in more games, and turned more double plays, together then any other two players in baseball history. It just goes to show that the Hall of Fame voting is not always based objectively on what the person did on the field. Your thoughts?
