D-Back's catcher question?! Help me!?

Why is it that Arizona platoon's Miguel Montero and whoever their other catcher is? I personally like Montero and believe he underated. Does anyone else agree? He is great offensively and defensively, so why do they have him and the other catcher share time? Why not move Montero to 1st and save some money?
